@fischr Thanks for this! I’m a staunch NNW user, but am always interested in new feed readers and am kinda getting excited about reducing the “checkbox ticking” methodology of consuming news and items of interest. Installed on my iPhone 14+ and M1 Mini, both running 26. In the spirit of lending a hand, I have a few notes:
-
It would be nice to have a way of toggling Reader Mode on and off for all subs. Not sure how that would work, but I had to go into each setting individually to turn it on after importing my OPML from NNW.
-
The mechanism for moving from main list -> article -> reader mode and back is a bit clunky, mostly getting back out to the main list. I can swipe back from an article that isn’t in Reader Mode, but have to use the close button at the top left to exit Reader Mode, then swipe back to the main list. It would be helpful to just jump directly into reader mode and then swipe back to the main list. If that mechanic is not available from Safari Webview, then a swipe down to close it would be fine, as well.

The Stash is a nice idea, but it would be nice to have other options like Reading List or Notes, the latter of which would be awesome with the Share Sheet Always Use Reader Mode option, sort of like a personal Internet Archive :)
-
Some cross-device synching would be quite nice. Nothing complex. Subs being automatically synced between macOS, iOS, and iPadOS is really all I’d like. Reading position would be a secondary ask. Stash is a no, I think, but the previous item’s options for Notes or Reading List would already cover that.
…and a few smaller items
- Moving the toolbars to the bottom, or at least have the option.
- There is a non-working “back” button in Reader Mode in the lower-left corner.
- There is no way to move to the next article in article view or Reader Mode.
I like very much how clean and simple and direct it is, though. I think there are some very solid bones to build on here and look forward to seeing where it goes :) Thanks!
